Jeff Van Gundy made some great comments the other night while announcing one of the NBA playoff games. He was talking about shot block attempts and how too many players use it as a first defense rather than a last defense. His point was that a defender should first worry about being in good position to defend a shot with a hand in the face and then if all else fails, try to block the shot.
