with Dave Odom,
University of South Carolina Head Men's Basketball Coach,
'95 National Coach of the Year , '96 Elite Eight, '00 NIT Champions
Dave Odom is a retired college basketball coach. He spent 22 seasons as a collegiate head coach at the Division I level; 3 at East Carolina, 12 at Wake Forest, and 7 at South Carolina. While at Wake Forest, Coach Odom compiled a record of 240-132, making him the second-highest winning coach in Wake Forest history. During this time, his teams earned 7 straight NCAA Tournament appearances.
His most successful years were anchored by center Tim Duncan, whom he recruited out of high school. Together, they reached the Sweet 16 in 1995 and the Elite 8 in '96. Three times Coach Odom was named ACC Coach of the Year. He also received one SEC Coach of the Year honor in 2004.
In this excellent instructional DVD, Coach Odom explains how to beat various pressure defenses. He will demonstrate how to break post-doubles, half-court traps, run-and-jump pressure, and full-court presses.
Through various drills, Coach Odom shows each player's responsibilities that are necessary to beat any kind of pressure. He also reveals his 4 simple rules for beating pressure, but you will have to buy the DVD to learn those! Every coach needs a few "go-to" plays that can produce a basket when needed.
As a bonus, Coach shares 2 of his "go-to" plays for that exact situation. This instructional video will be a great addition to any basketball library, and it will ensure that your team is prepared for any situation!
