Women Give us Something to Talk About

I have to admit that I’m not the biggest fan of women’s basketball but I’m slowly being converted to the college game.  The WNBA just doesn’t cut it for me, but the college game really does.

I’m very excited to actually watch the women’s FINAL 4 and see if anyone can get there but Tennessee and UCONN.  I learned the my favorite player in the tournamnet is Candace Wiggins followed closely by Mattee Ajavon of Rutgers.  These girls can play ball with anyone.  Wiggins lit up #1 seed Maryland for 40 points and that was the 2nd time she hit for 40 in the tourney.  She has endless energy and is a great team leader.  Ajavon (forgive the spelling) is a great athlete and was forced to carry the load for her team on offense.  She’ll be a great WNBA player in my opinion.

I can’t describe how it happened really but i found myself looking forward to the STanford and Rutgers games all last week and I watched them both.  My wife was stunned but I didn’t want to stop.  When Rutgers lost I felt genuine sadness for the team.

As for the final 4, i look for Uconn and Tennessee to win out and play for the title but nothing would make me happier than to see Candace Wiggins and Stanford play for the title.
