US Scaring Me in Worlds…
Something is just not quite right with the US basketball team playing in the world championships. I know they don’t have Lebron, DWADE and Kobe but this team is missing something and it is getting a little scary.
As Americans we tend to think we are the greatest in basketball and whenever we have assembled our greatest players we have always proven it. However the team we beat today by 2 points was missing 2 of their best big men and good solid pro’s in Varajao and NENE. You have to believe that they would have beaten the US with those two playing and they aren’t even the best country. Spain with Pau would beat this team and I don’t know how close it would be. I’m not impressed.
I watched today’s game and I know that Kevin Durant was the best player on the court. I know that Chauncey played a good game but where I’m not sold is the play of the other wings. Iguodala and Gay simply don’t take good shots or make good plays. They have no inside game at all and that is bound to get exposed like it did today.
What should I expect from these guys? I expect them to represent the US and win the whole thing. I don’t want teams to be close because basketball is our game. I know that other countries will always bring their best against us but in the end I just want to win and win big.
